I got this for our sun room and it was very easy to hook up. It looks good as well. Seems like it will last for a while.

I have a large office the size of a master bedroom in my basement. This heater heats the office and the large adjacent room very well. The pilot light is noisy, but I got used to it. Please note: The title of the listing is correct. The picture is not. My heater has two ceramic elements that provide infrared heat, hence the name “Dyna-Glo”.

Had techs hook up heater. Pilot would light but not stay lit.Thought heater was defective so returned it to , exchanged for another unit. Installed that one-guess what? Pilot would not stay lit. Called customer service. There is a small air hole that provides air to the pilot. It was getting too much air . They sent me a clip to cover the hole. Heater works now as it should. This clip should have been included in the box with the heater. Wasted half a day and gas money for nothing…..

This just happens to be the 5th space heater I have purchased in the past 8 years and it is by far the best brand I have purchased. When the burner turns on, there is no spell of unburned gas like the other brands. When the burner turns off after it reaches its thermostat setting, agin, there is no smell of unburned gas either. It is very quiet too when the burner is on like other brands.

Currently this thing is holding my garage at 60 degrees on the first setting with it 40-45 outside. My washer and dryer are out there and cannot be allowed to freeze. I was running a combination of electric space heat and propane sunflower heat, but bought this to run on natural gas. Natural gas is cheaper here and there’s no need to go have propane bottles filled. This will also work if they have rolling blackouts this winter. Installation took a while, but I had to repair the gas line that was run to the old heater. On install, DO NOT DEVIATE from the instructions AT ALL. Follow them and you will be fine. One thing, it says on one page the minimum pipe size is 1/2, on another it says 3/8. My igniter switch sticks sometimes, which actually helped with purging the gas lines. Overall decent, though I do get a smell of some kind while it’s heating. The flames stay blue and neither the carbon monoxide nor explosive gas detectors install with it have made a sound.

This is our second 20k Dyna-Glo blue-flame heater. The first one we purchased (last year) didn’t have the thermostat control. We REALLY like the fact that this one does! With the other one, you have 3 settings and OFF, so it seems you are constantly having to fiddle with it. But otherwise, it’s been a very good heater. No complaints on the quality or performance.
This one was a bit more trouble on the installation, but that has nothing to do with the heater. I didn’t feel comfortable hanging this thing on the wall with being held by sheetrock….so I went on the other side of the wall and cut out a large piece of sheetrock (thankfully, it was behind some paneling, so no mud and tape necessary when done) and added a 2×4 support for that hanger to mount onto.
One thing of note: as you can see in the picture…the heater came set to LP from the factory. We are using natural gas, so I had to switch that and replace that round cover. That’s not something you want to have to mess with after you have already plumbed it in and hung it on the wall!
It’s been 2-3 weeks now since we installed this heater, and it’s really great being able to just leave it lit all the time (pilot) and set at a low number (2-ish) on the dial. It comes on when it needs to and goes off on it’s own. Has kept the 3+ rooms at a nice, comfortable temperature.
We also have 2 Dyna-Glo kerosene heaters (one large and one small) that we’ve gotten a lot of good use out of over the past few years. I’ve been very impressed with the products from them, to be honest. If this new heater continues to impress, I can actually see us replacing the other one with a thermostatic-controlled one.SteveT (verified owner) –

Needed new stove to replace an older Empire stove that’s installed in an 220 sq. ft. sunroom. This stove does an excellent job keeping the room warm, the thermostat so far is doing a good job at keeping the temperature at our preferred temp, our older stove had no thermostat, plus should lower the gas usage also.

So far since installed a couple of weeks ago this heater is quiet and pleasant. Warmth is perfect and has user friendly controls. The kids are no longer blowing out the pilot light as they did on the previous heater because it is lit across the bottom in a pleasant light blue flame. The bricks on the previous were a nuisance to light when switching levels. We will see how this continues. Nice heater.

Puts out a good bit of heat for as small as it is. Very easy to mount and the thermostat works well. Only issue I have is that you have to hold the pilot button for at least 3 times as long as any other I have after the pilot is lit until it will stay lit on it’s own. Once lit though it works well and I’ve had no other problems with it.

My only complaint is that it was not made quite clear when I purchased this that legs for use with the floor mount had to be purchased separately. It delayed my installation about a week. Other than that… easy ignition and thermostatically controlled heat. Lovely!

I purchased this heater at last week to heat my detached garage turned into a mancave. I replaced a previous heater I had for this one because of the thermostat. I installed it easily and works great. I am a concerned that there is no protection shield on it so things could potentially get into the flame. My old unit had this. Seems like it could be unsafe without it since the metal grate in front has very wide openings. Not sure if the store just got a bad batch or if this is the design and over-reacting..

These heaters used to have a tempered glass panel directly in front of the open flame. This one does not. I’m also not a fan of the battery operated pilot ignition. I have three other of this type of heater in use and neither of the lighting systems lasted three years. This one replaced one that had been in service for more than twenty years. It had the old mechanical push button spark that was still working when the main valve failed. My oldest heater is 37 years old. Mechanical ignition still working just fine.

I really like this heater. I bought it to heat a 12’x20′ greenhouse. On the lowest setting, it kept the greenhouse about 52 degrees when it was 27 degrees outside. The thermostat works great and on the lowest settings, cycles off at 52 degrees. I built a simple stand to keep it about 2′ off the ground so the ground temp wouldn’t impact the thermostat reading. I can’t imagine having to go above the first setting. I got 4 nights from a 20# propane tank. I like that it has the option for natural gas as well. If I were trying to heat my basement, I’d use natural gas.

Bought this a few days ago and I was very impressed. I wall mounted and installed in about 30 minutes which included running gas line through an existing wall. Just to shed some light for anyone considering. 1- it will run off of a standard grill propane tank with the same regulator (may not be correct but it’s working) 2- when first lighting be sure to hold down the pilot button and purge the system (that’s a lot of air to push through a pilot hole in your hose) 3-if your a total cheap skate like me pick up the 10′ grill hose they should be on sale if your buying a heater. I was out the door for $300 with all required fittings, hoses, regulator and a propane tank. To sum it up though this things like having a small fireplace. I will never purchase an electric heater again.

Assembled quite easy (fan and feet kit) used all new fittings as this replaced a 18 year old unit. Purging the air was a pain, but thats no fault of the unit. I have a 3 season room and this is perfect for when we need the large dining space for holiday events. Smaller foot print that my old unit although increased BTU. Great deal. Wouls absolutely suggest you consider this.

Got this heater today to replace our old one. Our application was for natural gas. Did have to turn the switch on the back from LP to NG. A couple of fittings. Really easy to install. Installed in our Day room. About 300 square feet. Temp is set at about #1 a low setting. So far room is nice and warm. Some reviews said something about missing parts. Everything was ready and included. Or a noisy pilot light, we have none of that. A nice blue flame. Quiet and no odor at all. I highly Recommend this. I do Home Improvement for a living. And I do know what is junk. This Heater is very good and built very well.
